Born in 1948 and brought up among the mining communities of South Yorkshire.

As a self-taught artist he has mainly focused on his love of painting landscapes, mainly and woodland scenes.

James has taken part in numerous solo and joint exhibitions throughout the UK and has attracted clients from around the world.

James was delighted to be a contestant in the widely acclaimed TV show Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year.

In wanting to expand his skill set James has also produced seascapes, still life and ventured into making abstract work.

He currently works from his home studio in the south of England where he undertakes various commissions.
